Wools of 68, 0s quality continue to ease slightly on a little better though very moderate turnover. Small quantities of 68s and 48, 50s territory wool moved at steady prices. Low quarter blood wools were easier on small sales. The bulk of the trade was on 64s and finer quality at steady prices for principal offerings and at ir regularly lower prices on odd lots and Inferior wools. SLIGHTLY Exchange Backs up; Country Lambs In Demand PORTLAND, Feb. 11 (AP) 1 Once again the Portland Produce exchange has backed np and changed the price on batter to conform fairly veil with current conditions. Following the pre vious price declines here which were forced by' Interests that sell mostly in California and there fore wanted the local price to look as low as possible, the trade has been somewhat agitated for batter is volume could sot be purchased at the lower prices established. The right-about-face by the ex change was In line with normal custom there. Previously it made an advance of 5c in butter when the supply was Increasing. The last decline was made when sup plies were really short. The weekend session showed advances of V to.le a pound with the exception of firsts which were unchanged. Butterfat was nominally ad vanced le although most inter ests Ignored the former decline of that amount, therefore made no change. There was no change for the weekend market in eggs locally. Prices continued mixed with stor age rejects appearing upon the trade at all sorts of prices. Local co-ops were holding their prices Intact. There was a very 6troD! de mand for good quality country killed lambs with few arriving. Top quality calves were really scarce and demand in excess of supply. Hogs Just holding steady. LIBERTY, Feb. 11. The cold weather "packed quite a punch" in this vicinity, the thermonitor registering 10 degrees Thur-dav morning and 19 Friday morninp. Wheat reseeded since the Decem ber freeze is thought to be dam aged again. Those who have eo fur not resown their fields consider it fortunate that they did not. Strawberries and logans were already heavily damaged during December, estimated at one-fourth to one-half loss In different place.-, and the present low temperatures will add materially to the fig-,, re. Several loanbrry growers in ilia Prospect hills followed their uual custom and trained up their vines starting February 1. One Is a 15 acre tract and others smaller. These patches will sustain rruch. heavier damage than if they had been left on the ground. The farmers in that vicinity had esti mated less damage to tbeir patches previously due to higher altitudes than in surrounding di tricts. Tho full extent of dama?e will not be ascertained until blossom time, as partially troien canes will leaf out and appear healthy but dry np later. If they blossom nt all the blooms appear blight"!. Cherry orchards are also rp- 04 ported damaged though the ex tent depends on whether mucn sap had started running. Some of the orchards suffered heavily during the freete three years ago, when some growers lost many trees. Of damage to prune orchards, one does not hear much as yet. as Injury to these will not show up for some time. NEW YORK.
