HI LOOKS SILVERTON, Feb. 51 Silver- ton basketball fans' are literally up on their toes rooting for the Silverton high school boys for the championship of Marlon eounty. Two more games will be played before the championship Is deter mined. So tar Silverton has lost but one game' and this game is not counted ' in the, points. The game was lost to Chemawa early In the season but was ruled out because Chemawa played an ineligible man. The game will be played over again February 11 on the Willamette university floor. The' other game is to be played with Woodburn here on February 17. SUverton's standing in the Wil lamette inter-scholastle league Is also high but there are five more games to be played In the league. The Chemawa. and Woodburn games count In tho Willamette league. The other three games are Friday night at West Linn; February 10, Lebanon here; and Feh. Z4, m alalia there. Saturday night the local boys will go to Astoria, to play there. Mr. Lang yesterday volunteered the infor mation that there would bo no speech: he had not brought his notes to Salem I Even If he had them, he would not speak, Lang said for he had promised his con stituents to make no addresses and to Introduce no bills. Instead his policy is to consider carefully all hills offered and to use his best Judgment upon them. Repeal of unneeded legislation Is one "of his objectives.
