A Society N Chemeketan Banquet Delightful Success One hundred eight Chemeke taas and their friends attended, the fifth annual banquet of the local hiking organization, held In the Masonic building, Saturday night. , r Clever place cards, programs and table decorations featured The Trail Idea. Dr. C. A. Downs, president of the club, acted ' as toastmaster. Those responding to toasts Included C. W. Nobel, Mrs. Dwight Lear, Miss Esther Erick son, Dr. D. B. Hill and Miss Cor dla Wiper. Fred Kruse gave sev eral vocal numbers. Recognition was given twenty members who have Joined the club during 1932. The menu was arranged and serv ed by Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Crary. After dinner, moving pictures of several scenic spots familiar to Chemeketana were shown by Dr. Hill and Dr. Laban Steeves. Sev eral hours of dancing and cards followed. The committee for this affair Included Dorothy Taylor, Cordis Wiper, Esther Erlckson, Con stance Smart, Jessie Starr and Edna McElhaney. Arts League Council Scheduled Tonight Lynn Cronemiller, president of the Salem Arts league, is calling a meeting of the council for a business session at 8 o'clock to night at the city library. The council is composed of the officers of the league, the leaders of each section and the chairman of each standing committee. Any member of the league who desires to attend the council meeting to night Is welcome to do so. The regular monthly program of the league is being postponed until a later date to be announced as soon as determined. K 1 n g w o o d M r s. Charles Schwartz, entertained Thursday afternoon for members of the Book and Thimble club at their regular semi-monthly meeting. Program features, under the di rection of Mrs. L. F. Brown and Mrs. Conrad Fox Junior were pi ano numbers by Mrs. Ray Fergu son and Miss Mary St. Pierre, games and group singing. Eugene Krebs, Junior, suffering with pneumonia, was taken Thursday to Salem General hos pital. Miss Anita Savage of Seattle has been the guest for the past week of Miss Faye Thompson. Patriotic Group To Meet Wednesday The Oregon chapter of'Daugh ters of Founders and Patriots, one of the exclusive organisations of the nation, will meet Wednes day for Its quarterly session this time with Mrs. Joha F. A noon luncheon will begin the meeting, and at the business hour an important fea ture will be the election of dele gates to the national eouneil to be held In April in Washington, D. C. The marriage of Miss Helen Karns, (daughter of Mr. and firs. J. R. Snodgrass, and Mr. Laurence Lehnard, of Me Mlnnville, occurred Friday at Me Mlnnvllle. the Rev. W. Everrett Henry of the First Baptist church there, performing the ceremony at his residence. The bride wore a beautiful net gown and carried a boquet of pink carnations. Mrs. Lenhard was graduated from Amity high school with the class of 1932. They will make their home at McMinnville, where Mr. Lenhard has employment. A. club met at the home of Mrs. Amanda Mobery Friday for an all-day meeting. The day was spent in tying comforts. A pot luck lunch was served at noon.
