THE OTHER DAY ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS ASKED TO HAVE A PACK AGE OF SUGAR WEIGHT IN HIS PRESENCE the PACKAGE WAS WEIGH ED FOR HIM AND THE SCALES SHOWED HIM HE WAS GETTING FULL WEIGHT. WHILE WE HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED THE BUYING PUBLIC SHOULD WEIGH THEIR PURCHASES VERY FEW PEOPLE DO SO. WE DO NOT MEAN TO INFER THAT THERE ARE STORES INTENTIONALLY GIVEING SHORT WHEIGHT, THO WE DO HEAR A LOT OF RUMORS ABOUT SHORT WEIGHTS. BE THAT AS IT MAY, ITS WELL ENOUGH TO WEIGH YOUR PURCHASES SO MUCH FOR THAT NOW WE MAKE THIS STATE MENT NOT AS A BOAST EITHER, THAT YOUR MONEY WILL BUY AS MUCH OR MORE FOOD DAY IN DAY OUT AT THE MARKET THAN CAN BE HAD ANYWHERE IN THE NORTHWEST. WHILE ITS DESIRABLE TO MAKE A PROFFIT AT ALL TIMES. WE WOULD NOT FEEL IT FAIR TO ASK THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SO GENEROUSSLY SUPORTED US IN BETTER TIMES, TO EXACT OUR POUND OF FLESH NOW ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE NOT FORCED TO DO SO BY A BOSS LIVEING IN SOME DISTANT CITY WITH NO OTHER INTEREST IN THE COMMUNITY THAN THE PROFFIT RECEIVED FROM IT.
