him. Only th lft side is permitted the pedestrian, according to
the law. Motor .tcoldents resulting from such collisions, as well as
fatal accident to road-walkers are numerous. Pray said.

Market road maintenance ot
$40,000 comes from a levy on all
real property la the county. The
levy ot $91,000 is only to be made
on property outside of Salem since
the Oregon law provides that in
corporations are not to be includ
ed in this tax for county roads.
