LOSS OF FOXES IS
STAYTON, Dec. 7. Loss of

CUBES CUT 2C ON
E
PORTLAND. Dec. 7 (AP)
! Cut ot 2c ia the price of cube but
ter on ths produce exchange here
for the lata session was not ex
actly a surprise. Although such
action should hsve occurred soma
time ago if supply and demand
had been followed.
Previous manipulation of tho
market which carried Talues to
the 30c mark for extras, was not
at f.l Justified by either supply
or fUmand on the open market, a
avtrrey shows There nerer was
more than a temporary shortage
in the supply and this was not at
all serious. The manipulated ad
vance here gare great aid to spec
ulators owning considerable stor
age butter which they were try-
nr to nnload at a greater profit
by artificially boosting the fresh
churning price.
The price of butterfat was re
duced openly 3c lb. but secretly
is down only 2c in Sts.
Further shading of local egg
prices is reflected here although
no open cots are confirmed by the
Pacific Co-ops. Recent loss ia
New York has caused F. O. B.
buyers to reduce their bids here.
There is practically no demand
whatever for lire spring chickens
and receivers are asking that th
country cease shipment until a
market can be found. Hens are
holding up fairly well.
With fowls way down and with
country killed meats in liberal of
fering, the latter are inclined to
show generally reduced values
along the wholesale way. Veal es
pecially. NEW YORK. Dec. 7. (AP)
Stocks were mildly ambitions to
day, bat had some difficulty in
adding to yesterday's gains. How
erer, the tone was .generaly firm
and the market closed with a
small average advance.
Except for small fractional loss
es by U. S. Steel, Americsn Can.
American Telephone and others,
leading issues showed general, if
narrow, net advances, although
even at their best quotations had
been scarcely more than a point
higher. Union Pacific sagped a
point and American Water Works
receded on its dividend reductioa
to a $1 annual basis from $2.
Texas corporation and Standard of
N'ew Jersey Improved a point. Dn
Pont. Chrysler, Harvester, Mont
gomery Ward, U. S. Industrial Al
cohol. Seaboard Oil. International
Silver, Case, Missouri Pacific
Pennsylvania and Baltimore
Ohio, were up fractions at aboat
a point.
Sales totaled 1,194.369 shares.

Reichstag Meet
BERLIN. Dec. 7 (AP) Tha
new Reichstag, deadlocked like
the last one, as far as party con

the meeting was less stormy thaa
anticipated.
There was lively heckling from
the communists bnt Chancellor
Kart Toa Schleicher got through
the session without being forces!
to utilize the decree of dissolu
tion he had ready for any emer
gency. Various party motions, includ
ing attempts to yote non-confidence
in the new ministry, were
not reached at the meeting but
will come np tomorrow.
Earnings of the Pensacola, Fla..
