Slated Tomorrow
OERVAIS, Not. 23. Mrs.
George Braugh died at a Salem
hospital at-about 2 o'clock, Tues
day morning, following an illness
of , f our years' , duration. She was
born In Portland September 25.
18TB, and was married to George
Braugh at Eureka, Cal July 3,
1903. . They came to Oregon In
1906 and had lived in the Fair
field community land la Gervals
since that time. Only the husband
survives.
Funeral services will be held
from the Presbyterian church Fri
day afternoon, beginning at 1:30
Rev. Graiioua officiating and bur
ial will be in the Masonic ceme
tery east of town.

ST. PAUL, Nov. 23. The sec
ond card- party of the series of
six was held Sunday night at the
Knights of Columbus hall. There
were 16 tables and the commit
tee in charge was Mrs. Henry
Raymond, Mrs. Ed Piilette, Mrs
L. M. Simon and Mrs. ,J. N.
Schneider.
The men's first prize was won
by Harvey McKay and second by
Frank Brentano. Women'? first
prize was won by Mrs. Edward
Davidson, and second by Mrs
Maurice Merten.
Sunday, December 4, the third
card party will be held.

In South to Tell
Oregon's Wonders
STAYTON, Nov. 23. Editor
E. D. of the Stayton Mail and
Mrs. Alexander have left for San
Francisco, and from there will
go to San Mateo, where they will
spend Thanksgiving at the Glen
E.Fox home. Urging them to make
the trip, their daughter, Mrs. Fox
told of the wonderful weather
there at present, roses, and many
other flowers being in bloom.
The Alexanders are prepared to
say a few words along that line,
for instance the late summer
flowers are still untouched by
frost here; the roses in the park
ing about the Marlon county
courthouse, andthe row after row
of gladioli still in bloom at the
state tubercular hospital.
Turkey Feed
CHE MAW A, Not. 3 3 .All ar
rangements hav been completed
for the. Thanksgiving day pro
gram for the 800 students at the
Chemewa vocational school. They
will be served with a turkey din
ner, including all the trimmings,
in the students dining hall at
noon, accompanied by the school
10-piec orchestra. The dining
hall is being decorated to con
form with the occasion.
During the afternoon there will
be av pep rally and various ath
letic contests. In the evening, ar
rangements have been made . tor
those desiring to attend the big
event of the day,-the ChemaVa
Salem traditional football game to
be played in 8alem. For those
who do not go to the game, there
will be a special moving picture
show in the school auditorium.
