General steadiness continues in the market for eggs. No change in the price was announced by E. J. Dixon, manager of the Pacific Co ops.' There: If ft slight decrease in eastern storage trade. There was no further general change In the price of cheese at leading Ameri can centers. The situation contin ues to reflect .more or less easi ness at the source. There was no change whatever in lire chicken prices for. the week's opening. Demand Is good for hens but remains rather, slow and weak for springer stuff. The latter is down a fraction again to a new low. . Market for country killed meats started the week without price or condition change. Veal remains in ft very liberal offering and Is in clined, to show weakness. Hogs have held steady. Increased movement of celery to the midwest and the southeast is taking care of all offerings. The wet 'weather has interfered some what with the movement from the farms. Sales chiefly 70c half crate in carlots. Trading in onions at Oregon country points continues nominal with 35-40c cental being offered but not acceptable to growers generally. No business appears possible at the moment beyond this spread.
