An excellent program is being arranged utder the di rectorship .of Prof. Campbell who is heading several successful mu sical organisations at SlWerton and -surrounding community. Prof. Campbell reports that he hopes to hare his high school band.. which won so. much fame last spring, his newly organised symphony orchestra and perhaps the male chorus from Monitor, which he Is now directing, appear for the library benefit. -I think," said Mr.' Campbell, "that the library is filling a real need at SllTerton. I hope that it will grow and it will be a gTeat pleasure tor me to assist by ar ranging a musical for its benefit." Prof. Campbell has donated many volumes from his own library to the public library- ' The prime purpose of this, mu sical, will be to bring out books. But should anyone not having a book to spare, wish to attend the concert, he or she. will be wel come. The concert is free. Latham, chairman of the library, board, and Mrs. O. B. Bentson, a member of the board, is assisting In arranging the con cert. - . I Letter Winners At Independence Organizing Club INDEPENDENCE. Oct. 27. Wednesday afternoon the. first meeting of the Girls' Letter club was held. Officers elected were: President, Olga Syverson; rice presldent. Beryl Kelley; secretary, Mildred Mattlson; treasurer. Vera Ramey. Meetings will be twice a month. The members of the club are athletie letter winners of last year. Numerals were discussed, and it was decided to wear green and wblte 'Ts" with O. L. C. printed thereon. These emblems will be worn on white sweat shirts. , A Hallowe'en pot-luck party was planned for Wednesday night, to be held at Beryl Keller's home.
