Organized
An interesting club has been
newly organized and will herin
to function with its first meeting
August. 3u wun Mrs. Mark Wil
bur. The name chosen is "Ace
High", and there will be two
meetings a month, one a lunch
eon meeting and afternoon of
cards and one a dinner meeting
with the husbands of members as
guests, ana then the evening will
be occupied with cards.
For the luncheon meeting each
month a "5 and 10 cent store"
idea will be carried .out for
prizes, decorations and snch nin

worked toward by Mrs. Walter Denton, local "mother" of

Chester W. Rosekrans of San
Francisco, to come to Salem and
address the people here in a mass
meeting Thursday night at the
chamber of commerce.
Mr. Rosekrans is a leading per
son in -progressive movements of
San Francisco and especially all
that concerns music as an educa
tional development and is the
founder of national Masle week In
that city.
He has made the week there an
official occasion supported by the
city government as a part of its
civic duty. At the Thursday
night meeting he outlined in in
spirational manner the work done
in tbe south and what can be
done here. '
