W. Davidson before her departure from : Salem was the bridge tea of Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Boy Hurst with Mrs. Hurst and Mrs. Luther Jensen as hostesses. Summer flowers In pastel shades made a pretty, background and at the tea . hour the effect was heightened by the use of pas tel covers for the bridge tables. Score cards, favors and tea menu carried out the "going away" mo tif. - Winning scores for cards were held by Mrs. Lawrence Imlah, Mrs. Richard Meyers, and a guest prise to Mrs. Daridson. Guests bidden in compliment to Mrs. Daridson by Mrs. Hurst and Mrs. Jensen Included Mrs. Ted Endicott, Mrs. Howard - Hulsey, Mrs. E. H. Kennedy, Mrs. Karl Heinlein, Mrs. T. J. Delaney, Mrs. R. H. Buffet Supper Will Be Large Event One of the large and attractive social events for the coming week will be the buffet supper for which a group of Delta Phi sorority members will be hostess at the sorority home on Court street Tuesday evening. Covers will be placed for 40 guests. The supper hour has been set for S o'clock and this will be followed with an informal social evening and program in charge of Miss Elizabeth Clement. Miss Lee has made quite an extensive tour of Oregon and has enjoyed the scenic wonders of the state. Mrs. Alsa David who has been the guest of her mother, Mrs. T. C. Mclntire for the past sev eral weeks has' left for her home in Miami, Fla. Bridge Tea Will Compliment Visitors Members of the Thursday Bridge club and a few additional guests were delightfully enter tained Tuesday at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Albert, which Is located on the banks of the Santiam river, when Mrs. Louis Aldrich, who Is spending a few weeks at the cottage, enter tained them with a picnie lunch eon and followed this week sever al hours of bridge. The luncheon was served in the garden of the cottage and here cards were in play for the after noon. Mrs. Grace Johnson won high score for bridge. Mrs. Paul Rasmussen, Miss Am anda Schwabbauer, Mrs. Harris Letts, Mrs. Tom Galloway, and Mrs. Sam Butler were special guests. Club members Included Mrs. Grace Johnson, Mrs. Rex Da vis, Mrs. Dode Stewart, Mrs. Jesse Campbell, Mrs. William Lilje QUlst, Mrs. R. C. Hunter, Mrs. L. Connor, Mrs. George Johnson, Mrs. Frank Loose and Mrs. C. N. Laughrldge. Bridge Club Guest At Santiam Cottage Health Dept. Tea Is Attractive Compliment A tea, honoring Mrs. John P. Ballantyne of Sllverton, county chairman of the nursing commit tee, and Miss Ruth Rulifson of Salem, county chairman of the supply committee, ' was given by the fire nurses on the Marion eounty health' department staff at the unit office on North High street Thursday afternoon. The' guests numbered between SO and ' CO from the following communities: Sllverton, Salem, Aumsrille, Jefferson,- Gates, Me hama. Mill City, Rickey, Stayton, Turner, St. Paul, Woodburn, Cen tral Howell, Hubbard, Keizer. Ut Angel, Monitor, West Stayton, Aurora, Gervais, Brooks, Scott Mills. Silverton Hills and Liberty. Special ' guests present were Mrs. Saidle Orr Dunbar, promin ent club woman and treasurer of the Oregon state tuberculosis chairman, and Eleanor Thomp son, national president of the American Nurses association. Hostesses for the tea were Grace Taylor, Margaret Mc Al pine, Nova Lyndes, Irma LeRiche and Juanlta Johnson, of the Mar Ion county health staff. Mrs. D. B. Bridge will be in play at six tables during the afternoon hours. The daily vacation Bible school at the Church of the Nasarene gives its closing program; Sun day, night at 7i30 O'clock. One hundred and thirty boys and (iris between , the ages of four and 14 have been enrolled in the school and - eight ' teachers had charge of the course of study.
