April 1 Woodburn can no longer boast an , airport. -. .The airplane beacon which has stood in a field about four miles west of here was taken down recently. " The gorernment hag been maintaining an airport there for the past three years. The field was abandoned, by the gor ernment as a new passenger ship line between Salem and Portland has been Inaugurated farther east of the former one, and the field would be of no service. The gor ernment has been leasing the field' from Virgil We.lls f rom year .to year at $1S an acre with an option of 1 5 years.
