meeting of the writer's section of
the , Salem ' Arts league was that
enjoyed Tuesday night . at the
home of Mrs. William D. Smith
and Miss Grace Elltabeth Smith.
The usual program of original
work was presented. Prof. W. E.
Lawrence spoke In fascinating fa
shion of the flora of the Cascades
and the address came to the group
over KOAC. Dr. Franklin discuss
ed a serial story written by a
group of Oregon writers.
Original stories and poems
were - presented by Mrs. Jessie
Singleton, Mrs.- J. M. Clifford.
Lynn Cronemlller a paper on
trees, Mrs. B. Ii. Steeres another
article on trees, Mrs. Edna Dally,
Mrs. Ora I. Mclntyre. Mrs. Ray
Yocom, and a one act play was
read by perry Relgelman.
Miss Edna Garfield, Mrs. J. M.
Clifford, and Mrs. W. F. Fargo
were siren special mention at the
meeting for having won signal
honors in recent productions.
Miss Harriett Long was a spe
cial guest for the evening and oth
er guests were Miss Helen Lytle,
Miss Orma Mclntyre, Mrs. Ray
Yocom, and W. E. Smith.

A luncheon meeting will dis

school two home economists. Miss
Helen Elisabeth Brown and Miss
Amelia Sansom. They wIH be hero
the three days ot the school which
will be held at the Salem armory
on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

handled In all food stores. The
school Is announced as an electric

Each day's program will be dif
ferent, one day being devoted to
breakfast menus, another to the
luncheon, and a third to the din
