In the interim there probably will be little of importance transacted that is little which would make news. But major administrative programs are expected to be re sumed with the new .year. According to schedule this coming week will be the last one for the administration of Governor Willard I Marks. Governor Jnlins L. Meier is ex pected back at the capitol Mon day, January 4. The president of the senate is making a fine executive, and according to Miss Walton, is a "perfect sub for Meier." To those who know Marks, this is not at all surprising. Marks said the beginning of the month that he would carry on the poli cies of the elected official as a substitute and he has done that well. He has not put off any deci sions other than those affecting Issues in which Meier was person ally interested. The new governor has been at the capitol virtually every day since Meier left Oregon for Kay Woolen mills, and in reverse order.
