He suffered a paralytic stroke November 11 ami pneumonia was contracted late Saturday night. He was bora Jane f, list at Dexter, Iowa, son of Rev. Edward E. and Johanna Gittlns. He attended grade aad high . schools there and later -attended tha Columbia university la Portland, of which he was a grad uate. He was married la Wills mina. Mr. Gittlns was en gineer on the Southern Pacific railroad on the run between Canby and Molalla. He has been with the Southern Pacific com pany tor tha past 30 years. Mr. Gittlns is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ruth Gittlns of Mol alla; three sisters, Mrs. J. Panl Brown of West Linn; Mrs. Will Mlshler, of Eugene, and Miss Mar garet Gittlns, West Linn. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 25, at the Leslie church at Salem. Mr. Olt tlns father was a minister of this church a number of years ago.
