the opening session of the his
tory class led by John Clifford,
Monday night at the Clifford
home. The class is a section of
the Salem Arts t league and will
meet regularly1 during the winter
carrying out a line of study con
cerning the development of the
northwest. The next" meeting
will . be November 2 ' at which
time Oregon pioneers will be the
subject-of discussion.
