A concert program which will be In the nature of a farewell - public appearance of William Wright, local tenor, is being ar ranged by the choir ot the First Presbyterian church. Wright is assistant pastor ot the church and has directed the church, mu sie tor. more than three years. The concert will be held' at the church Friday, night, August '2SK ana win no louowea by an in formal reception in : the church rooms, E. A. Kenney announced yesterday. Mr. Wright will appear In sev eral numbers on the concert pro gram, and other special numbers will be given by the ministers quartet. . Mr. and Mrs. Wright are leav ing September 2 for Ithaca, N. T., where he will attend the West minister choir school. In charge of decorations for "the concert and reception will be Mrs. Jim Teed, Misses Vivian and Helen Benner and Miss Mulkey. The Ladies' Aid. of which Mrs. A. F. Marcus Is president, will hare charge of the reception hour. Marking the last appearance of "Miss Thelma Davis, who has had charge of music at the Jason Lee church this summer, a special musical program will be given at the church Sunday night at. 8 o'clock. Miss Davis will sing a number of negro spirituals and the pas tor. Rev. Hugh B. Fouke, Jr., will make a brief address on "Standing, in the Need of Prayer." - Songs which Miss Davis will sing Include the following group from H. T. Burliegh: "Deep Riv er", "Nobody Knows de Trouble ' I've Seen", "Were You There", "My Lord Whata Mornin'". "It's Me, Oh Lord". "Hard Trail". "The Gospel Train'.', and "Didn't It Rain". She will also sing two of E. W. Gulon's songs, "John de Baptist" and "My- Little Soul's Gwinea Shine". The seminar was devoted al most entirely to consideration of religious problems, with the cen tral idea working toward shifting the church life to a principal of learning processes. Fifty ministers, present from Oregon and Washington, seemed agreed that the relationship be tween pastor and congregation should be more- one of supervisor and students. Aug. 21 The Undenominational church, which has conducted services in the building across from the postof- flce for 'several years, moved Its equipment to the old Falls hotel building la the north s.ide. Ser vices will be conducted In the new edifice this Sunday. Plans are being made to open a relief store there for the needy.
