to much cracking from rain the
hanrest was fairly, light. D. A.
Hoag reports selling four and one
halt tons of Royal Annes.to Sa
lem . canneries at "three cents a
pound, subject to dockage because
of , Imperfections. 'Also a small
quantity of Blngs and Lamberts
at six cents. These were carefully
sorted; and are to be. used for
maraschino purposes.
. He has about a ton and a halt
of Royal Annes remaining on the
trees, and will spray these heavily
with sulphur to prevent bj-own
rot. Pickers received three-fourths
cent a pound at the Hoag orchard,
picking them 'orchard run. 8ome
local gowers paid one cent a pound
and the pickers sorted tor cracks.
A number of growers have left
the crop on the trees, as It seem
ed Impractical to-try to harvest
with so much fruit spoiled by rata.

ing in 21 years. They left Tues
day moraing enroute to Illinois
where they will visit relatives be
fore returning to Nex Mexico.

daughter were Meryl Smith and

and H. C. Patton and family of

to Portland and expects to return

teen hundred pupils attended this
school, where she won aa hon

given for the pupils who made

were only 250 pupils of the sev
