The out going president Is Frances Stew art, who will be graduated in June, j . .. - j Colorful Spectacle Maries Crowning of Queen Mary I At West Salem Activities WEST ' SALEM, May 23 A colorful and beautiful spectacle was the crowning of Queen Mary the first, Friday afternoon at the May festivities of the West Salem school. The queen, ' who la pri vate life Is Mias Mary Helen Un ruh, was attended at her corona tion by the following malds-ln- waiting: Ruth Maers, Hazel My ers, Naomi Alsop. Mildred Crum, Wllma Crum, Catherine Apple white, Reba Clarke and Jean Smith. With the queen crowned, her attendants trod the stattly measures of a minuet. The pri mary grades, clad in rainbow hues, wound the May pole. Mary Rath Riffey represented Madam Spring in a pageant In which she was welcomed by two red breast ed robins who -ushered In rain drops, breeses, sunbeams,' and flowers.
