WILDCAT PETE
Pete Poses;
Will Engage
NewFoeman
Following the meek unoffen
sive appearing picture of Wildcat
McCann in his new wrestling
championship girdle. Wildcat
Pete has gone r one better and
-posed for the cameraman, or
perhaps it was the artist, ana
now a picture i interpreting, hi
real nature as a Wildcat i at
large.? ' ' ' :
Two squat ears which-may have
been used by other wrestlers for
teething, protrude in cat style on
either side of a head of slick hair
with a dividing tline in the cen
ter. The artist, for that is who it
must hare been, did not hare to
alter Pete's nose one bit to make
it look like one belonging to a
primitive feline.' but did add a
few cat's whiskers. Incldently all
who have seen " Wildcat Pete
wrestle will admit that he is the
cat's whiskers. 1 "
This picture wilt appear soon
in the Oregon Statesman, but if
you are in a hurry to see what
the expression on this face resem
bles. Just off-r any hungry cat a
mouse and then try to take it
away again. Such is the writer's
Impression of the Wildcat's mien
as he holds a Jealous paw over
the middleweight wrestling
crown.
The rest of the body Is one of
& lean rangy wildcat, but also of
interest is the look of Invitation
and defiance on ' the countenance
of Mr. Pete as he Issues the "call
of the wild' to all comers while
his back Is turned on a long trail
of skulls and clean licked bones
