The Lee Farlow residence -on the Jefferson-Marion road narrowly escaped being destroyed by fire Sunday evening. Farlow was com ing from the barn when he dis c. ered the roof on fire around the chimney, and a stiff wind was carrying the blaze rapidly across the root. He and his two sons and Mrs. Farlow ' had to fight hard to get the fire extinguished, which they did by carrying water to the root and by tearing away the shingles. The greater portion ot the root was destroyed and the upstairs plastering dsmaged- by water. A defective flue Is thought to be the I cause of the fire.
