Another red-hot see-aw game
was played Friday morning with
Baker coming from behind in the
last two minutes of play to beat
Ashland, 23 to 22, in a consola
tion series game of the state bas
ketball tournament at Willamette
university. , i . . ; ...
Carter and Reeder opened the
scoring for the Lithrans, but Sealy
and Eddy retaliated, putting Ba
ker in the lead, 6 to 4. By the
end of the first quarter the score
rested at seven-all, following rag
ged playing occasioned by the
bard games played by the two
teams Thursday nighL
The Baker guards parked on
Wardlow Howell's trail and kept
him well jostled about under the
basket. . Howell was held to three
points during the game, but ssade
several assists. Many of the pass
es Intended for him were- a bit low
and the speedy Baker players
made numerous interceptions.
The morning crowd was good
and felt well repaid for the early
hour attendance. At the half
Ashland led 12 to 9 and again 18
to 15 at the end of the third quar
ter. With the resumption of play
