University of Oregon soon.

will be directed by Mrs. Ottilie
Turnbull Seybolt, head of drama
at the university,' has been select
ed from all departments on the
ttmpus, all the parts being taken
by students. The students have
their own theatre; the Guild, and
there Is an opportunity for them
to work on other phases of the
drama besides the i actual acting.'
A number of plays were put on
last quarter, and one-act matinee
productions were: featured.
Miss Thielsen during her uni-
- versity life has been very active
In drama.- She took-the principal
role in "Holiday," a three-act
play given last terra. She Is a sen
ior in the school of music and
Is affiliated with Kappa Alpha

Conference Meets

iary to the American Legion is the
fact that the national president of
the auxiliary, Mrs. Robert Lincoln
Hoyal of Douglas, Arizona, heads
the5 conference of the woman's
patriotic conference on national
defense which will be convened in
Washington, D. C, January 29 to
31 J '
At this time it is expected that
40 women's organizations, repre
senting a membership of 200,000
women throughout the; country,
wilt be present. The conference
wilt open Thursday night with a
mass meeting in Constitution hall
and will be in session all day Fri-
day and Saturday morning. Ban-j
