Gram, state la bor commissioner, as a means of improving the unemployment Bit nation. Gram has proposed that the state- take orer several tracts of . these logged-off lands in different parts of the state, erect barracks - adequate to house the workers, and then proceed te clear the lands. The workers would re ceive a small wage and only per sons in need would be employed. ' " After the lands are cleared they would be divided into 10 and 20 acre tracts and Improved by -the erection of small "houses, barns and other buildings necessary for farming operations. The tracts then wouTd be sold on the Instal ment plan. Gram declared that this plan would take care of sr4arga num ber of unemployed men. and even tually would place the lands on the tax rolls. He said the propo sal also would furnish homes for many persons who are unable to purchase lands at the prevailing prices. Immediately following this the congregation, of which the Tin gelstads are charter members, re tired to the social rooms where a wedding table had been set for K. A huge bouquet ' ot yellow and whit chrysanthemums Brac ed the center of the table and on ach side were whit tapers in crystal holders. Whit cards on gold carried oat the gold and white color scheme to the place cards. A gold and white wedding cake was at the close of dinner placed before the f 0-year bride, who Inserted the knife for the first -piece. The entire cake was cut by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Martin Tlngelstad of Salem, and each member of the congregation was giren a piece. Rer.
