Dempsey is dismantling his gravel bunkers located on the William Mid die ton place a half milo up the RIckreall, and is storing ' the machinery until spring work opens. Dec 8- George Hall, who has been in continuous service as president of the Hub bard Co-operative Fruit Growers association since Its organization six years ago, was re-elected to that position at the meeting of the association Saturday after noon at the eity halL . P. O.' Weber was re-elected vice-president and D. E. MeAr thur. secretary and treasurer of the association. : Mr. McArthur who has served in his present office during the past four years. Is also the man ager of .the berry house, the re ceiving plant of the organisation. The-three directors chosen on the executive board - were J. H. Hugill. a new . member of the board. W. T- Hoffman and Clar ence Bevens. re-elected.' Mr. Sev ens has served on the executive board five .out of the six years of the association's existence. Other directors are Mr. Hall. Mr. Weber, J. W. Richmond and R. H. Brpwn. The association has a member ship of 150, an Increase of more than six times Its membership in 1924, the date of its organiza tion' Fred Schneider and Mrs. J. F. Coleman added their names to the membership list Saturday. Fifty . of the - members were present at the meeting; Many took part In a discussion of the association, criticisms against which were called for but none offered. Dec. 8 The Salem Heights grade school presented Christmas program at the community hall Friday eve ning to a large audience. Irma Deets pupils of the first and sec ond grade put on a playlet entlt- Jed. "The Toy Shop" Hulda Moot- rys grades, and third and fourth presented. "Sammie's Christmas Dream." The - fifth and sixth grades, the third and fourth pre sented. "Sammie's Christmas Dream. The fifth and sixth grades under the direction of Agnes Booth, pnt on a playlet In which the trials of an overwork ed Santa Claus was portrayed coupled with the arrival of the dancing reindeer In which two little girls and one boy were fea tured la tap dancing. The title of the playlet was, "The Sjfrrit of Christmas." - Cecil Wierand's pupils of the seventh and eighth ' grades pre sented a two act playlet, entit led. "The Horton's Christmas Trip." It was a comedy and very well presented. Csndy was sold during the evening, .the proceeds of which will be used to buy play ground equipment.
