pils, seems to be well organized.
They organized a club the first
week of school and its name Is
"Wide Awake." The officers are
elected every two months. Com

tion for a week then new ones are
appointed. These appolnteee
have various duties In the build
ing and on the grounds, with a
serge an t-at-arms n charge. This
Is Miss Dumbeck's first school.

Rnge reported that surveying
had been done for the proposed
new sidewalk on Edgewater
street. The council Instructed
Ruge to notify the power com
pany to remove poles which will
Interfere with the construction of
the walk. ' It was decided to defer-construction
of the walk un
til Spring. - '
- The street committee and pur
chasing committee reported on
the matter of purchasing a new
street grader for the city and
Mr. Arnold, agent for the grader
under consideration, was given
the eourtesy of the floor tor a
talk on graders. The council
decided to take the mstter under
advisement until the first of the

the city auditor. A motion car
ried that: a sufficient sum of
money be transferred from the
sewer and water fund to offset
an overdraw on the general
