Not. 24 The Parent-Teacher association held an unusually interesting meeting Friday erening in the community hall. A letter was read by the sec retary. Miss Catherine Chandler from the state traf He division concerning a new slogan on safe ty first. The division asked the opinion of the P. T. A. on the slo gan which Is "Let s Live." The association approved the slogan and instructed the secretary to write the division to that effect. Announcement was made that mothers of pupils and teachers of the school are invited to a social tea Friday afternoon. Charles McKee is having 350 cherry trees, of the Montmorence variety, planted. ; - Earl Lynes is also planting 150 cherry, tree of the same variety; and also 100 peach trees. E. C. Hart and, A. W. Brown are putting out , more cherry trees. Mrs. G. W. Humphrey left for Eugene Saturday, where she will spend Thanksgiving with her granddaughter, Mrs. Howard Humphrey and family. Mrs. Humphrey will be remembered as Maysel Humphrey. S. R. Tandy, local realtor made a business trip to Siletz. Friday. Dr. and Mrs. J. O. Van Winkle and Ban Richard, accompanied by Rosalie Pallen, attended the pie social at Sodaviile, Friday night given by the Ladies Aid society of the Evangelical church. The plum puddings are from an old English recipe and is just what plum pudding should be. The fruit cakes are from one to five pounds each and priced at 75c a pound and the plum puddings are made in cylinders weigh ing one pound each at 40c a pound. Then we have the Cresta Blanca Pudding Sauce with the old time tang at 90c a bottle and Martha Rush's hard sauce in 50c and $1.00 jars. The Dromedary cranberry sauce, ready for the table at 25c per can and chestnuts for the turkey stuffing at 25c a pound. Our own make of mince meat at 20c a pound or the peas at 35c each.
