WHAT SALEM BUILDS ......... BUILDS SALEM i all1 ITli Jl-d i SAB EM DOLLAR This New Hotel Means More Dollars for Salem The erection of this fine new hotel will entail an actual structural cost of some $250,000.00. Approximately 60 per cent of this amount, or a total expen diture of $150,000.00, will be spent for labor alone. The remaining 40 per cent or approximately $100,000.00, will go into materials. This item of $150,000.00 will be distributed almost entirely to local labor. Something that will be greatly needed this winter. This means that $150, 000.00 will in turn be redistributed to the merchants and business men of the city and finally to the banks of Salem. The $100,000.00's worth of materials will be purchased as much as possible commensurate with good business right here in Marion county, or through ma terial supply agens of Salem. Thus it will be seen that as iar as practical all money spent to build Salem9 s new and most important civic enterprise will remain in Salem. And what will be the result? This large sum of money being constantlyt turned over and over right here in Salem means increased prosperity for Salem for the wage earner, the merchant, the professional man and the banker. Every dollar invested and thus started on its way will help to make Salem more prosperous. And after the new hotel is completed the hundreds of visitors stop ping at the hotel will shop in Salem and will spend thousands of dollars that will increase the resources of our city. Salem's new and modern hotel will create wages, business and profit for everybody concerned. Salem seriously needs this new and modern hotel. And Salem needs too, NOW, the industry, the employment and the business that this new enterprise will bring. The Executive Committee urges that every citizen interested in Salem's progress will support this greatly needed project and do it now. We ask you as loyal Salem citizens to help boost, cooperate on committees, and when asked to buy stock do your iull share like a good citizen.
