Mrs. Fred Yergen and Mrs.
Loran Giesy attended the Clack
amas county, fair at Canby on
Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Yergen
and Mrs. Fred Yergen have been
to the camp grounds at Salem,
getting their cottages ready for
the opening of the state fair. The
Yergens have occupied their
houses for many years and keep
open house for their friends.
Miss Knapp Visits
Margaret Knapp who spent the
greater part of her vacation in
Washington, was in Aurora for a
time with her father, before tak
ing up her duties as teacher in
the Parrlsh Junior high school at
Salem.
Mrs.. O. Fletcher of Portland
was a guest of Mrs. Diana Sny
der for a few days this week.
While here she spent some time
with Mrs. Dot Bergeois, who is a
guest at the Gerd Eiler ranch.
Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Laflar en
tertained Norman Harrison, and
Billie Gray of Vancouver, Wash.,
at their home Sunday.
Miss Will Visits
Myra Will who spent a part of
her vacation with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Antone Will of
Newport, called on her aunt Miss
Clara Will Sunday. Miss Will is
a teacher In the Oregon City
school.
Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Letson have
been taking numerous trips this
summer. Sunday they motored
over the- Mount Hdod loop, to
gether with their house guest,

friends from Beaverton, went by
way of Government camp to
eastern-Oregon, on a deer hunt.
They expect to return over the
McKenzie Pass, They were con
fident they would bring back no
unused markers.

Mrs. A. D. Yergen had a rather
unfortunate experience while at
tending the Clackamas county
fair Wednesday, when a seat at
one of the lunch stands gave
way, causing a painfully sprained
ankle.

Clarence Adams, who is a san
itary engineer, writes home from
Indianapolis that he likes his
.work there but does not enjoy
the extreme heat of the east. He
agists with municipal sanitary
inspection work, and also works
with a group of sanitary engi
neers who test the purity of the
waters of the Wabash river.
Clarence did this work last sum
mer in the waters of the Willam
ette under tho direction of Ore
gon State college of which he is
a graduate.
Mrs. Frank Kroehn will come
up from her home in Portland
tomorrow to spend the webek
end with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Manuel Schindler. Mrs.
Kroehn was formerly Miss Mary
Schindler.
M. A. Schindler Is employed
this week at tha fair grounds
where he is doing carpenter work
about the buildings and grounds.

home in Nora Springs, Iowa, to
Woodburn, by another son who
lives in California. Mr. and

visit their son in California,
