Prominent ' people of the state and university will be among the speakers. A special vesper service for the mothers is being arranged for Sunday at 4 o'clock in the music building. Woodburn The Home Rebe fcah and Odd Fellow lodges held a surprise farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. William Dart who are leaving soon to occupy a ranch "near He bo, Oregon. The Odd Felows held their regular business meeting after which the ladies were invited in. The evening was spent in playing games and at the conclusion of the fun, refreshments were served. About 50 friends of Mr. and Mrs. Dart were present. Misses Mable and Nelda Dart who aro seniors and sophomore students respectively at Wood nbur high, will remain until school is out at the home of Mrs. Maymle Allen when they will join their parents on the ranch. Independence The Eastern Star held its regular session Tuesday night. A good attendance was present. After the business meeting was over, a program was given, followed by games. Club Women to Hear Interesting Program Members of the convention fed eration committees are requested to meet with Mrs. Harry J. Weid mer at 1:330 o'clock at the club house in order to go over some Important business in regard to the convention. At the program hour the mem bers of the Salem Women's club will hear a lecture on forest pre servation work from George E. Griffith of Portland. The lec ture will be illustrated as wel. and this will add much to a subject in which there is much interest. Miss Beven's team gave a clever program Tuesday, night when an old time school was Impersonated, with the captain, and the teacher. The jokes and costumes made the meeting .one of fun for all and placed the team 700 points ahead of their opponents. A lunch was served after the meeting.
