UI.UUI IILKUVUH Epworth Leaguers in Three Day Session at Dallas Methodist Church DALLAS, April 25. The Sa lem district. Epworth league con Tention will be held at the Dallas Methodist church,' Friday, Satur day and Sunday, April 25 to 27. About 200 delegates arrired Fri day afternoon, and were assigned to the homes of those wbo will entertain them during the conven tion. The delegates were guests of the Ladles' Aid at a banquet the first evening. The first session opened at 7:30 Friday evening with Dr. T. H. Temple presiding. Following the addresses of welcome and music, the main talk of the evening was made by Prof. James T. Matthews on the theme, "Higher Living." Saturday morning at 8:30 a. m.." Rev. W. S. Hall will have charge of devotional services, at i o'clock the convention will or ganize for discussion groups for a period of 4 5 minutes. Rev. W S. Glelser will give an address en titled "Wings" followed by an other discussion period and a talk by Rev. C. B. Harrison, "If I were a Leaguer Again." In the afternoon will come the business meeting, election of of ficers and a picnic. In the eve- ninK each chanter will make a response to the roll call, and a pageant will be presented by the members of the Independence chapter. Sunday morning at 11 o'clocl; the convention sermon will be de- . livered by Rev. Milton A. Marcy, , 1 Urrf rt snnerlntendent of the 1 southern district, his subject will be, "Christianity's Most Convinc ing Argument." Special music will be provided by the choir. Installa tion of officers will take place at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in charge of Dr. Temple. At 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening a canta ta will be presented by the Me Mlnnville Methodist church under direction of Claire Snyder with Mrs. Thomas Dewhurst as accom panist. TURNER. April 25 Special music will be featured at the Turner Christian church Sunday. The subject of the morning ser mon by the pastor. Rev. E. J. Gil strap, will be, "On to Pentecost;" the evening subject will be "Two Campfires." The Sunday school numbered 135 last'Sunday when an Easter program was given, followed by an Easter sermon by the pastor. Esbon Tappin led the young people's service in the evening, there being 39 intermediate and senior Christian Endeavorers present Miss LiUie Peterson and Miss Nellie Barber are spending the weekend at Marsh field as dele gates to the state Christian En deavor convention. A number of the young people are spending Saturday at the musical tourna ment at Forest Grove. Dr. H. C. Epley reports an attendance of 40 at the weekly choir practice. The church lawn has been Im proved. Speakers Are Listed For Revival Meetings At Mill Street Church Subjects and ministers for the revival services to be held each night the neit week at the Mill street Methodist church have been announced by the pastor, Leslie B. They roared out of TO PRESENT PIM The Ladies' Aid of St. John's Lutheran church will present a three-act play, "Her Honor, the Mayor," at Nelson hall on Tues day evening, April 29. at 8 o'clock. The play is a good natured and humorous satire on the wom an's rights question. In the story the men and women are made to exchange places in politics and housework. The heroine is elected mayor and her "culled" cook is "make chief of police. They deprive the men of the ballot and otherwise place them in woman's former position. All goes well until the love ele ment wrecks the political ma chine by an elopement. When there seems to be no possible way out of the political tangle the heroine is brought back to earth in a very surprising manner. The play promises to be two hours of relaxation and enjoyment. Several Events Now Occupying Attention Of West Satem Group The Ford Memorial church In West Salem has received 28 new members in the past year, includ ing several who were baptised on Easter Sunday. The Easter Sun day evening program was declared one of the best ever presented in the church. A declamatory contest and In door baseball and volley ball are occupying the youth of the church at the present time. Next Tues days night tfcjB volleyball team will play against Turner. The same evening, at 7 o'clock, the Boy Scout troop sponsored by the church will meet. The Sunday school board and board of stew ards wlll meet Monday night. Moving Picture Shown To Illustrate Sermon In connection with the theme "For What do we Strive?" used Sunday night at the First Congre gational church, the first part of the xnoring picture "Striving for Fortune" will be shown. Cir cuit meetings are being held at Immanuel church this week and are being very well attended both in the evening and during the day time. Yomarco Women Plan Silver Tea Occasion For Friday Afternoon The Ladies' of the Yomarco Bible class of the First Metho dist church will giro a silver tea at the home of Mrs. A. A.
