Mrs. Kenneth Campbell re turned home last Wednesday aft er being in Salem in the hospital for the past two weeks. Mrs. Campbell underwent a serious operation and has recovered nicely. Miss Mary Biggs vho has spent the past two weeks in Portland visiting her aunt, returned to her home in Amity on Wednesday. . Eldon Lattlmer, who has been employed in Corranis, for some time- has secured employment in MeMlnnvMe. Miss fcdlth Walus, John Ma hood, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen. Mrs. Ella Duchein and Frank Way mere motored to Pacific City on 8unday where they enjoyed a feeantiful eoast day. Ruble was forced to re sign his position as secretary treasurer of the Amity Commer cial club due to poor health. Massey Bros, trucks have been finite busy for the past week, hauling empty cans, rubbish and such to the (lump. Last week was clean up week at Amity. The Misses Helen and Clara Karris and EUla and Dorothea Biggs attended the play. "Profess or Pep" at Willamina on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. George Patty motored to Mollala Sunday where rbey visited their daughter, Mrs. Glen Kirkwood. Mrs. L. F. Countryman, who is Tfeiittnfc here, spent Saturday evening in Carlton visiting friends and relatives. Miss Laverne Bowman left Sunday for Seattle where she will visit friends for a week or two. Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas have moved from Silverton to their home In Amity. Martin Rosenbalm. Her physt-' dan wishes her to be taken to town for treatment, but she has thus far been unable to take the trip. Mrs. J. W. Simmons, Mrs. Grace Bliss and Miss Helen Bliss attend ed the monthly meeting of the Women's Foreign missionary so ciety at West Salem. Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Simmons is presi dent of the chapter. He will be remembered as a former pastor of the churoh at this place. Mrs. M. A. Goodspeed of Salem and Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Morford of Eugene visited Monday at the Cash Roberts home. Mr. and Mrs. Morford are uncle and aunt of Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Goodspeed is her mother. Mrs. Arthur Arms of Salem. who is a niece of J. W. Edgar, was a caller at the Edgar home Thursday. She ws in a Durant car driven by a demonstrator from the Salem Automobile company. Mrs. Arms is thinking of buying a new car. O O Rosedale I -o ROSEDALE. April 12 Mrs. A. J. Haldy is spending several days in Portland visiting her par ents and attending the Friends Ministerial conference held there Mrs. Watson and son of Drain called at the E. B. April 12 Arthur Cocker who filled the position of cashier at the Southern Pacific depot here for several years and who recently was transferred to the Salem office of the same com pany, has returned to Mill City to resume his former position. Mr. Cocker preferred the work here. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Felt and daughter Harriet of Chatsworth. 111., arrived here Wednesday on a visit at the home of Mrs. Felt's parents, Mr., and Mrs. O. H. New man. The easterners came by way of California, stopping over In Los Angeles. It is very probable that they may locate in Oregon. A number of Mill City residents drove to Portland Sanday to spend the day. Among those go ing were Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Coo per, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Gordon and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. At the same time Mrs. Lloyd Dun ivan and slster-ia-Jaw, Dorotheen Dunivan, left for the same place in the automobile belonging to E. Dunivan. Curlew is a small town in northeastern Washington near the Canadian line. The younger Dunivan family, expert to return to Mill City Sunday. M. J. Kneer of Mill City re ceived a message the first of the week telling of the death of bis sister, Mrs. Ida B. Wadsworth, at her home in Allentown, Pa., on March 10.
