According to Robert Shlnn, farm advisor of the bank, corn exhibited this year is of a better quality than that of last year and the number of en tries is much larger. C. R. Biggs, county agent of Benton county. Judged the show and expressed the opinion that It was of unusually high merit. "The corn exhibited here could well be shown at any corn show in the northwest and would rate very high," said Mr. Biggs. Entries were from Polk and Marlon counties and were limited to the yellow dent variety. Past experiment has show that yellow dent is the corn best adapted to this vicinity. According to Mr! Shinn much progress has been made In the growing of corn during the past few years. A. Raf fety, state traffic inspector. A total of 1334 accident were . due to earless driving, while 421 accidents were caused by drivers . failing to give right of way. In -291 accidents the drivers gave las- -proper signals. Skidding caused 74 accidents. In 32 accidents drivers were found to be Intoxicated. The state traffic officers partic ipated in 2896 arrests, with tines sggregating 15018.40. Tha offi cers issued 10,058 warnings and collected delinquent fees of 4,- 838.48.
