The program waa furnished by Balem talent nnder the direction 'of Mrs. Madalene Callin, Talley news director of the Oregon Staes naan. , Dr. David Hill, of Salem, whose .moving pictures always delight ' the audiences, showed scenic Tiews 'of Oreg'Jn, the Mollala round-up and other interesting pictures. Thia is the third time Dr. Hill has visited the communty club and at the request of the children showed his animal school picture which was received with as much enthusiasm as when . shown the first time. Miss Leona Moshef of Salem gave several readings which de . lighted -the andience and the mu sical numbers given by the follow ing quartet were very much en Joyed: Dr. L. E. Barrier, H. I. Pearson, E. H. Leach, J. J. Mor"- ltX. A surprise visitor was Dr. P. O. Doukhobors now Staging Hunger, Strike in Prison VANCOUVER B. C. Oct. 12 (AP) Alter weeks of passive re sistance, the 104 Doukhobors now serving prison sentences of six months each at Oakalla prison farm near here have entered upon a hunger-strike, it was reported today. Warden Walter Owen, who is in charge of the farm, would neither confirm nor deny the report. The Doukhobors, including men and women, were sentenced at sou, B. J., August 29, toiiowing nude parades staged near South Slocan, and were transported to Oakalla by special train.
