Group Delegates elected from Llncoln-McKinley-Leslie P. T. A. Thursday afternoon to attend the state con vention in Grants Pass October 15 to IS are Dr. and Mrs. B. F. Ponnd and Dr. and Mrs. Floyd Utter. Mrs. C. A. Downs was elected to take the vice presidency of the P. T. A. which had been unfilled -following the removal to another school district, of Mrs. W. J. Min kiewitz, former vice president. The organization, part of the meeting proved to," be most en thusiastic. .This coming year there will be a child study class under the direction ot Mrs. C. A. Downs who led a similar class study under the American Asso ciation of University Women the past two years. This interesting class will meet every Tuesday in the music room ot Lincoln school at 3:30 o'clock and every mother in the three districts is invited to oin it. Membership in the P. T. A. is not necessary although the work of the study class will be a part of the P. T. A. work. The interest which is manifest in this class is evidenced -by the fact that 15 .women Joined the class Thursday. In connection with the work or the P. T. A. this year there will be a "service shop" under the di rection 'Of Mrs. LaMoine Clarke and Miss Dorothy Taylor. These shops have become a popular part ot P. T. A. work in most cities. Other plans are under way which are not quite ready to an nounce. Mrs. W. B. Johnson who ls vwith them for the first time this year, members of the Alpha Phi Alpha sorority were hostesses for a formal tea at the sorority house on Oak street. Friday after noon between the hours of S and S o'clock. One hundred and twenty-five invitations were extended to members ot the university cir cles and townspeople. Greeting these folk as they came to the door was Miss Georgia Stryker who Introduced to the line line headed by Miss Dorothy Gor dan, and Mrs. W. B. Johnson. Miss Olive Dahl, Mrs. F. M. Erick son, and Mrs. -Wayne Robertson. Presiding at the . tea table tor the first hour ' was Miss Alida Gale Curry and Miss Leila John son. During the second hour, Mrs. Alice Fisher and Mrs. George H. Alden presided at the tea table. . The tea table waa unusually at tractive with its lace cloth cen tering Which was a low beaten copper bowl, filled with carna tions, maidenhair fern, pink dahl ias and baby villias. On either side of the bowl were beaten copper holders containing green tapers. Both the receiving rooms and the tea room were lighted with the soft glow of many candles those in the receiving room were yellow and those in the tea room were green. About the receiving rooms were baskets, of pink zinnias, pink dahlias, yellow chrysanthemums. and salmon pink gladroli, all of J which were enchanting in the soft candlelight. Violin numbers were given by Miss Lucille Flannery, and Miss Lulu Allen and Miss Grace Hen derson gave a piano number. Miss Lois Plummer and Miss Marjorie O'DeTl were the accompanists.
