In Keizer . district will open Sep
tember 23. All pnpils are re
quested " to come Friday to get
their booit lists. The same corps
of 'teachers as last year will be in
charge: principal, Mrs. Beryl
Porter, .7th and 8th: Mrs. Eva
Kelson,' 6th and 6th; Mrs. Cora
Beardslejr, 3rd and 4th, and Mrs.

The little daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lester Pearmlne who has
been ill with typhoid fever is re
covering. No fear is felt la the
tommunity of an epidemic.
. Fire Raging
A fire has been raging in the
Stolts timber near the river- in
west Keizer. Charles Weathers,
In fighting the fire, was overcome
.twice and narrowly escaped being
canght by the flames. It was
finally brought under control aft
er 14 cords r of wood were con
sumed besides the standing Um
ber. Miss Goldie Weathers has been
confined to the bed for several
days with tonsilitls and inflam
atory rheumatism. She is some
what Improved.
Mary 'McCall, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs.. Fred McCall, spent the
week end witbr her friend, Vivian
Jones, 'near the Roberts station.
Mrs. 'Jones is a teacher in Keizer
school.

tions, of weather, and t crops.
The latter, seemingly, have been
very satisfactory In the Sllrerton
district this year.

wall. Her granddaughter. Miss
Hattle Aspinwall went home with
her for a week's-, visit. Other re

and Mrs. Carl Aspinwall were Mr.
