Mr. Dixon la the son of Mr. and
Mrs. W. H. Dixon of Battle
Ground, Washington, and ts as
sistant ca.hler at the State Bank
of Scotts Mills. -
Mr. and Mrs. Dixon went to
Yellowstone National park for
their honeymoon. They will re
turn September 1, when they will
be at home to their friends in
Scotts Mills.

For September
Elmer Your.g, whose home has
been in Salem for many years,
but who has been teaching the
art department of the University
of Michigan for the past time
years fallowing his graduation
from Chicago Art Institute, has
been spending part of his summer
in Salem.
Just at present he is fn Alaska
where he has been spending some
time studying life there. He will
return to Salem before September
1, and durlnp the first week in
September will exhibit a group of
his own paintings at the Monroe
Gilbert studio.
The work of thia young artist U
both in water colors and In oil.
He also does especially Interest
ing work In portraiturlzatlon. He
has been a regular exhibitor at tho
Oregon state fair each year. The
group of canvasses to be shown
in the Gilbert studio will be of ex
ceptional Interest.
Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Mackenzie
from Seattbj were recent guests
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T.
S. Mackenzie. They have now re
turned to Seattle and have taken
with them their little daughter,
Doris, who has been a guest at
the T. S. Mackenzie home for the
