Harris who suffered severe cuts and bruises and a badly hart knee In an automobile accident at the Brooks Four Corners Sunday eve ning is convalescing at hsr home one mile west "of Brook. Mr. and Mrs. Harris were returning home from Hater's Grove, where they had attended the Minnesota pic nic. Mr. and Mrs. Harris had slowed down at the Intersection of the Brooks road and the highway and as they proceeded onto the highway the car driven by Mr. and Mrs. Ft. J. Williams of Salem, crashed into the side of their ma chine. Mrs. A. F. Clement and son, Sam Of Portland were guests of Dr. and Mrs. Beal, Tuesday eve- ninr and Wednesday. Miss Lois Beal and Mr. Lyle Mccre. both ot Independence were married Tuesday la Dallas. They went to Newport after the wed ding returning home Wednesday. They will make their home in the Moore apartments. Joe Hirschberger returned home Monday evening after hav ing spent two weeks at the Y. M. C. A. camp at Elk lake.' Te Old Swimming Bole is being well patronized at Island Field during these warm days. A bus brings a load of normal school students nearly every .day. Well Wishes to Follow Rites of Silverton Pair SILVERTON, August S. The wedding of Miss La Verne Rich of Scotts Mills to H. S. Dixon, also of Scotts Mills, on August 15 is to be of considerable interest at Silvertot. Miss Rich who is a graduate of the University of Oregon, has taught piano at Silverton for the past few winters. She has taken part in a number ot musical pro grams and has a large group of friends, here. The date of the wed ding was announced at a charm ing affair at the home of Mrs. J O. They were in Pocatello Idaho for two weeks, in Great Falls, Montana several days and from there they went to White Water, Montana where they spent a week.
