AT DEMAND
Local Products Coming Into
Markets in Considerable
Volume Now
Demand for fresh vegetables has
been particularly strong during the
week, with more and more local
products coming to the market.
The first Marten county canrota
and bests of the season appeared
this week and. although small in
Biae, are fine quality. The selling
price Is 10 cents a bunch for each,
or three- for 25 cents. . ..
More cauliflower, . or jather
broccoli, i coming in from Rose
burg. This Is excellent quality and
aelhi at 20 cent for the best
Labisb lettuce is at its peak
rjght now, with very good heads
coming Into the local stores and
warehouses. The large heads re
tail at two for 15 cents.
Local asparagus is getting
scarce, as seen in the boost in
price to 15 cents a bunch.
Koseburg is shipping the bulk of
the new peas now on the market
here, with the store price at 15
cents a pound. Pods are good, size
and well filled.
Hot house fancy tomatoes, regu
lar beauties, sell at 35 cents a
pound which is also the whole
sale figure. California is also ship
ping tomatoes, these leaving the

$3.25. Other products remain unchanged.
