Kirk and Mrs. John H. Albert was hostess to the mem bers of the Thursday club In the Spaulding; home on Court street Thursday afternoon. Green, , on honor of the rood St. Patrick, was used cleverly in tapersu-nd other decorations contrasted with yel- - low daffodils. The Afternoon was spent in the telling- of Irish stories and con versation. Miss Marie Elizabeth Crary, niece of Mrs. M. F. McCall, was a special guest of the afternoon. Mrs. Day, Needham Easter Party Hostesses The first Easter party of the season was celebrated at the Elk's club Monday afternoon with Mrs. Grant Day and Mrs. Frank Need ham as hostesses. The large dln- lag room of the club was trans formed Into a lovely card room -with orchid tulips, bowls of daf fodils, and Easter lilies forming the background for twelve tables of bridge. j 1 -Mrs. Elmer Daue won alga core for the afternoon and Mrs. Harry Weidmer won second. Covers were laid for sixteen at a dainty table centered with green carnations and fern and tall green tapers, Mrs. Fran Moore won high score for bridge at the end ot the after-1 noon of playing. Receives Visitors Tha regular meeting of Hanna Rosa Court,' Order of the Amar anth, was held ia the Masonic Temple - Wednesday evening with Royal Matron - Minnie Protxman, presiding Reports of the grand court meeting which was held in Eugene last week were given. At that meeting the local court was honored by the election of one of their members, Mrs. Verlie Ellis, to the office of grand trustee and two others, Mrs. J. B. Protxman and J. Burton Crary, received ap pointive offices. A feature of the meeting 'was an Informal visit made by several ot the grand court officers, and tha patrol of Sunnyside court, Portland. - The patrol's visit to Salem was through the courtesy of 8. K. Adolphe Webber, of Berk, eley, California, who is visiting ia Portland and accompanied the patrol to Salem. It Is the only or ganization of its kind on the Pa cific coast, and their drill added greatly to the pleasure ot the eve ning. After the regular lodge session. a short program was given. Guest of Mrs. McCall St. Patrick's laurels mounted high at the McCall residence Wed nesday afternoon during which time Mrs. Marie Flint McCall en. tertained the Sweet Briar club of Wallace Road. At these meet ings Miss Augusta Joekel spoke concerning- m. trip to Hawaii trac tar la her talk Just what might bo expected if tha girls were to tra vel, mentioning the little brown swimmers who would swim out to meet the boat, the la! She told that rain in Hawaii Is never called rata but "Hauid sunshine and that there are more Japanese in Hawaii than native Hawalians.
