C. Cross, president of the ' club. Mrs. I. L. Patterson, Mrs. W. E. Kirk, secretary of the club, and the hostess. Mrs. C. P. Bishop. The receiving rooms were dark- ened and lighted candles worked the magic of soft lights and shad ows about the roosna where a wealth, of pink carnations were , arranged. In the dining room red candles, valentine motifs and red carnations made beautiful the serving table where Mrs. Alice H Dodd. Mrs. John H. Albert, Mrs. Carl Gregg Doney. and Mrs. Charles Park presided.. Assisting with serving were Mrs. Prince Bj-rd. Mrs. Lewis Griffith. Mrs. Brernian Boise, and Mrs. Freder ick Deckebach. Sr. Miss Josephine Albert won ova 4ion3 of praise for the beautiful Interpretations of a group of four old fashioned sonrs which she gave in character dress. Mrs. Rich ard H. Robinnon sang a group of two songs in her usual delightful manner. Minnesota Club Plans Summer Meeting The Minnesota club which met for its m Id-winter affair Tuesday evening at the First Presbyterian church planned to hold a similar summer meeting In order that the some 200 members who once lived In Minnesota may get together and renew old acquaintances. In which greetings .and wishes for a speedy recovery were expressed. Music by Turneya orchestra, group singing, led by T. S. Burton Carary and Joseph Benner closed the program ror the evening.- A luncheon will be the noon featnre of the World Day of Pray er which is to be observed by the' Balem Council of Church Women Friday at the First Methodist ehurch. This organization includes 14 dabs of Polk county having grown from 7, the original number wnien began the federation a year ago: Two winter conferences are held and a picnic in the summer.
