Asking the state board of con trol to install telephone at Cham, poeg park and connect with the line of the Aurora Mutual Tele phone company. Corvallis, Dayton and McMinnville were called to the office of the sheriff of Tamhill county at Mc Minnville Wednesday afternoon to identify Jimmy Clifton, alias George Wilson, alias Lee Harri. who Is an alleged confidence man making a specialty of defrauding banks by obtaining loans, repre senting himself to be an employe of the S. P. company, and pre senting credentials, also leaving fake Jewelry as security. Clifton was apprehended at the First National bank, McMinnville. The president of the bank, Frank Wortman, had received Informa tion about a year ago concerning he activities of "Jimmy" and recognized him. It was necessar to detain him forcibly until po lice arrived. Clifton is being held in the Tamhill county jail at Mc Minnville, p'uding criminal charges. Miss M.
