Dec. 8. (AP) Caught "red-fanged," a huge dog is being held in the So noma county jail, charged with "sheep-murder." Thi3 dog is the first to be caught of several bands of dogs which have been menacing the sheep and calves of the hill districts for the past few weeks, Ranchers have demanded that cap ital punishment be administered. Henry Seeman encountered the pack of his ranch today and wounded the airedale which he turned over to the authorities. Seeman stated that in two weeks 40 of his sheep had been killed by the pack. (AP) The promise of Cyrus George Northcott. father of the I accused slayer, Gordon Stewart Northcott, that he would "tell ev erything." failed to materialise today when he Informed Deputy District Attorney Earle Redwine of Riverside county "I haven't anything to say now." Redwine had gone to his cell following the father's promise made to him on Thursday. Meanwhile Norbert Savay. chief defense counsel for Gordon Stew art Northcott, said that Mrs. Sarah Louisa Northcott, Cyrus Northcott's wife and mother of Gordon, had denied the charges agains ther. Mrs. Northcott learned today for the first time the details of the atrocious crimes, credited to her 22-year old son," Savay said. "The woman Jwoke into tears and sobbed bitterly as I told her of the state's accusations. She denied the charges that she par ticipated in the killing of the Col lins boy." Savay said that there was no possibility of a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, and that he would attempt to bring about a meeting of the mother and her son, who is held at Los Angeles." It was said Cary attempted to cash a check with a forged iig nature, at the G. W. Johnson Clothing company store. Samples of three different types of intoxicants were in the possession of the police Saturday night following several arrests on charges of drunkenness; dena tured alcohol, flavoring extract and moonshine whiskey. Men arrested were Harold Teske and Otto Johnson, charged with being drunk, and E. J. Crai?, charged with being drunk aud having liquor in his possession.
