Harding. daughter of "Bill" Strayer, prom inent Baker attorney, and veteran member of the Oregon state sen ate. Mrs. Harding Was a student at Willamette university for a num ber of years. She is now attending the University of Oregon, A con siderable furore accompanied her marriage to Mr, Harding four years ago due to the pominence of both parties and the fact that the marriage was kept secret for several days after It took place: The divorce complaint filed In cir cuit court here Wednesday indi cates that they were married in Portland on December 20, 1924. Tbe suit is based on alleged cruel and inhuman treatment. The plaintiff recites that he was ill with kidney stones between Feb ruary and July of this year. It further states that he was ''In need of almost constant care and attention. That during said time the defendant disregarded her marriage vows, spending the greater part of her time away from home, attending shows, dances and other social functions; that during such time the defen dant refused to care for or admin ister to the needs of the plaintiff. That en or about the 14th day of May, 1928, while plaintiff was so ill and confined to his home, but gaining back his health and strength, defendant told plaintiff she no longer cared for him and was going to leave him."
