(Special) Mrs. Stella Henry, member of the republican state central com mittee, attended the meeting ot state committeemen Thursday li Porland. The purpose of the meeting was to nominate a cir cuit Judge for eastern Oregon, the office being vacant following the death of the former incumbent. Mrs. J. Fred Purvine enter tained with a party for her daugh ter Marjorie. Saturday night, Oc tober 13. The event was a com plete surprise to the young lady and proved to be an enjoyable af fair. Yellow marigolds and can dles in yellow holders, were pret tily arranged about the spacious living rooms. The girls were pre sented with corsage bouquets and the boys with butonhole bouq qtiets which when matched provid ed them with partners for the cafeteria lunch. The guest group Included: Miss Marjorie Stewart, Miss Eya Depres. Miu Pawllna Domes. Miss Imogene Alsman. Miss Mary Hackett. Miss Lorene Walling. Mis8 Mona Brooks, Les ter Stewart. Jesse Walling. Low ell Purvine. - Densi Wilson. Claude Walling and Ellis Walling. Additional guests were Mr. and Mrs. Brooks. Mra. Jesse Walling, Mr. and Mrs. James Mott of As toria, and the hoeteas, Mrs. J. Fred Purvine.- Mr. and Mrs. IT. E. Smith of Portland and children Audrey Bobby. Alice and Dorothy, were Kuests at the home of Mrs. Alice Simpson for three days this week. Mrs. Simpson, who has been a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Smith for a month ac companied them home. Mr. Smith and son Bobby motored to Albany Tuesday for pheasant hunting.
