Bell, formerly of Seattle, has recently been named manager of the local Sherman, Clay music store and is now a resident of Salem and in charge of the busi ness. Mr. Bell has been with the Sherman, Clay company for the past seven years, both in Seattle and in Spokane. His family and himself are making their home in the Olympic apartments. Dr. Warner Returns Dr. Es tella Ford Warner, acting head of the Marion county child health demonstration since Dr. William DeKleine left a month ago. was back in the office on Center street Monday morning after a month's vacation. Dr. Warner spent part of the time at Baymoor on the Neskowin coast and spent some time as the guest of Miss Mildred Carlton, who resides between Medford and Central Point. Portland Teacher Visits Miss Lulu Heist, teacher in a Port land high school, is spending the week end at the home of her sister, Mrs. W. W. Emmons. Fisher to Ieave Earl Fisher, state tax commissioner, will leave here Tuesday for Salt Lake City, where he will give a series of ad dresses before the Utah Educa tional association. Meet Tuesday Night The Lin-coIn-McKinley-Leslie Parents Teachers' association will hold theri first meeting of the year Tuesday night, October 16, in the auditorium of the Leslie junior high school. A program of motion picture will begin at 7:30. with no admission charged. Films will include a local picture, made by nr. David Bennett Hill. The pub lic is invited. To Visit County Schools County School Superintendent Mary L. Fulkerson and William W. Fox, rural school supervisor, expect to spend most of the com ing wee"k visiting schools in the county, she said Saturday. Mrs. Fulkerson has already visited sev eral of the rural schools, despite the fact that activities at the state fair and the county teach ers institute nave cut neaviiy in her time since schools opened. I Jefferson Man Here Glenn Wood, principal of the grade school at Jefferson, was in this city Saturday and called at the county superintnedent's office. Prinicpal Wood reports that en rollment in the grades is so heavy this year that the board has had to hire ,an extra teacher. There are now five grade teachers there. Attends Luncheon Dr. D. W. McMillan, secretary of the state dental board, was in Salem on business Monday and attended the Chamber of Commerce.
