the first of their seven game ser
ies to determine the 1928 cham
pionship. In an effort to get the Jump on
the series. Manager Nick Williams
of the Seals latends to start
"Dutch" Ruether. left handed ace
and league leading pitcher this
year. He will be opposed either
by "Lefty" Vinci or Ray Keating,
right handed veteran who wi
runnerup to Ruether. Both
teams will take the field with the
same lineups used during the reg
ular season.
The Seals, winners of the first
half, tied Sacramento for second
half honors but lost in t&3 three
game playoff. In the serlea be
ginning tomorrow they will be
playing for a 16,000 bonus,. to
be divided on a. $0-40 per centage
basis.
The teams will meet in Sacra
mento Thursday and Friday, re.
turning here for games Saturday
and Sunday. A sixth game w
scheduled for Sacramento and the
seventh will be played in this
city.
