All failed to make the necessary grade at the close of the last school term. This ruling hits the Redskins in a vital spot,-- that of quarter. Buck Smith, the third candidate for that position, has not reported for practice since the Washington High game on account of ankle trouble and It is doubtful whether he will be able to enter the game today. If Smith is not able to can me numoers it will mean 'tomeone will have to fill that most important post without practice or experience. The strange thing about it is there Is more gloom hovering over the student boys be cause of the ruling than there is among the players themselves. Eighteen men go with Coach R. O. Downle and G. ' W. Bent, manager this morning for the game in Portland. Their starting line-up will be: O. M each em, left end; E. Brunee, left tackle: L Me- Cvley, left guard; K. George, een ter; J.
