Ceremony s The marriage of Mlas ueorgia Williams and Orval Hazlewood was solemnized Wednesday eve ning at the home of Rev. and Mrs. 8. Darlow Johnson. The bride wore a loveiy auer noon gown of blue georgette, a coat of beige broadcloth, and a email beige hat. A few intimate friends and im mediate relatives were present for the service which was read by Rev. Johnson. Mrs. Hazlewood is well known in Salem and has been honored with a number of attractive af fairs. Mr. Hazlewood formerly made his home in Myrtle Point but is now instructor at the Pacif ic school of flying maintained in Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Hazlewood will be at home to their friends at the Stratton apartments on North Win ter street. Complimenting Mrs. Hazlewood, -.an interesting shower was given one evening recently at the home of Mrs. -K. J. Nelson. Many beautiful gifts were pre sented the honor guest. Literary Department of Portland Women's Club Entertains With Luncheon. The literary department of the Portland Women's club entertain ed Thursday afternoon in the Woman's club-house with the last of-a series of luncheon which they have given this spring. Sheaba Hargrave, prominent western writer, gave an interesting talk. A comprehensive review of Miss Hargrave's recent book, "Ca bin at Trail's End" was given by Miss Vivian Cooley. Judge Evans spoke of the work of the Woman's club for the bene fit of the Unruh cottage at the Children's Farm Home at Corval Iis. Miss Edna Garfield was a guest from Salem at the affair. ' i ; Miss Pearce and Miss Ross Will Present Recital An interesting feature of Good Music Week will be the recital which Miss Dorothy Pearce and Miss Lucille Ross will play at 8:30 o'clock Monday evening at the old Presbyterian 'church. The concert wI11 e benefit for the organ at the new church. The program, will include two piano numbers, piano solos, organ solos, and a viorgrf selection by Miss Iva Clare Love. ; Will Spend Several Weeks in California Mrs. S. B. Franklin left earlier in the week for Pasadena, Califor nia where she will remain for sev eral weeks as the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stacey. i i Junior Business Girls' Club Elects Officers Miss Opal Bumphrey was elect ed president of the Junior Busi ness Girls' club at the business session which followed the club dinner Thursday evening at the Y. M. C. A. Miss Roxanna Zielle was chosen, vice-president; Miss Louise Lanke. secretary; and Miss Marie Waldorf, ; treasurer.
