Wednesday Noon at Leslie School The domestic art department was in charge of the interesting prograim which was presented Wednesday noon at Leslie Junior High School. A clever play entitled. "The School Girl's Clothesline" was giv en by Echo Hall. Marie Bone. Alice Detlefs, Elsie Blakley, and Daisy Varley. Miss Weller Will Present Advanced Students in Recital Miss Elma Weller will present a group of her advanced piano students in recital Tuesday eve ning, May first, at tight fifteen o'clock, in her residence studio at 695 North Liberty street. Ohling entertain ed Friday afternoon in her home In South Salem with an attractive tea complimenting her aunts, Miss Alice B. Brown and Miss Bertha Brown of Bangor, Maine, who are house guests at the Ohling home. One hundred and sixty guests called between the hours of three and six o'clock. The living rooms reception hall and dining room were lovely with a .profusion of spring flowers. Little Miriam Becke greeted the guests at the door. In the receiv ing line with the honor guests were Mrs. Mark H. Savage, and Mrs. Ohling. Assisting about the living rooms were Mrs. W. E. Anderson, Mrs. Grover C. Bellinger, Mrs. L. R. Le Furgy and Mrs. William Gosser. Mrs. R. K. Ohling and Mrs. Gus tav Ebsen presided at the serving urns on the attractively appointed tea table, centered with anemones, tulips and tall lavender tapers, for the first hour of tne arternoon. They were succeeded at the sec ond hour by Mrs. Homer II. Smith and Mrs. W. P. Babcock. Mrs. Wallace Bonesteele. Mrs. Dwight Parr, Mrs. Max Page, and Mrs. Lester Barr assisted in serving. The Misses Brovn will remain in Salem until the firsi of June. A part of their time will be spent at the Ohling summer home at Seal Rock's. Return to Home in Washington Mr. and Mrs. John Bestler have returned to their home in Tacoma, Washington after spending sever al weeks ia Salem with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Barkus. Mr. and Mrs. Barkus accompanied them as lar as Van couver. 0. S. C. Club Will Sponsor Dance Friday Evening Members of the Salenv O. S. C. club will sponsor a dance Friday evening. Mrs. the Children's Farm Home at Cor vallis spoke at the Highland Friends church Wednesday eve ning following the all-day session of the W. C. T. U. convention. A legacy of J40.000, a cottage at Newport, and 100 acres of tim ber land in Washington, were left to the Home by Sirs. Mathewson. 1 15. 000 of the legacy is known as Jthe Mathewson endowment fund, land $1,000 has been used to build a utility house at the home. The home has six cottages, three for boys and three for girls, with 20 children in each cottage. One hundred and fifty seven have been cared for at the home during the past year. Children are accepted from five to 1(J years of age. "Open House'' will be held at the school sometime" in June, ac cording to the superintendent. Musical numbers were also in cluded on the evening's program. Chapter of Children of American Revolution Will Be Organized Arrangements for the organiza tion of a chapter of Children of the Aemrican Revolution in Salem were completed at the meeting of all past regents of Chemeketa chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution yesterday af ternoon at the Spa. Mrs. Homer Gouly. present regent; and Mrs. W. H. Byrd, vice regent, were also present. Mrs. C. C.
